The City of Tampere is seeking arts and cultural activities to strengthen the cultural wellbeing of older adults
The Cultural Programme brings together offerings for older adults
Based on the offers received, a city working group will compile a Cultural Programme, from which rehabilitative day centre groups, community meeting places, and senior clubs operating in Tampere can select arts and cultural content for their programmes free of charge.
Practical arrangements and schedules will be agreed separately with the selected providers.
The arts and cultural content must contribute to at least two of the following cultural wellbeing objectives:
- the realisation of cultural rights
- maintaining or strengthening functional capacity
- maintaining or increasing everyday activity
- strengthening the experience of inclusion and participation
- strengthening feelings of belonging, community, and meaningfulness
In addition, selections will emphasise high artistic quality, the suitability of the content for different operational environments, and the providers’ experience of working with older adults.
A broad call for artists and cultural operators
The call is open to:
- individual artists and artist groups
- cultural operators, associations, and organisations
- working groups with experience of working with older adults
There are no restrictions regarding art forms. The proposed activities may include performing arts such as music, dance, theatre, circus, or literary arts, or participatory and applied arts activities such as workshops. The maximum duration of a single activity is 45 minutes.
Performances and workshops will take place in rehabilitative day centres, venues operated by the city and its partners, and senior clubs across Tampere. The size of the venues and the available technical equipment vary, and some spaces may be small. Smaller-scale performances are therefore most suitable. Performances must not include loud sounds or bright or flashing lights.
Call open until Friday 8 May 2026 at 3:00 pm
Offers must be submitted via an electronic form between 23 April and 8 May 2026 by 3:00 pm. The call has been published on the Culture Bank website at www.kulttuuripankki.fi/en/. Selections will be made by a city working group, and detailed practical arrangements will be agreed separately with the selected providers. The City of Tampere reserves the right not to select any offers.
The Culture Bank is a free service maintained by the City of Tampere for artists, cultural professionals, and commissioning organisations. Registration is available on the website.
