Grants can only be awarded to activities that comply with the City of Tampere’s general principles for grants.

This website brings together information on the objectives of grant funding, the criteria for awarding grants, application periods, and general information on the grant preparation and decision-making process.
How grant funding is governed
The City Executive Board determines the general principles governing grants awarded by the City of Tampere.
More detailed grant criteria and objectives are determined by the respective committees and subcommittees. An exception applies to the grants presented on the Other Grants page, which are governed by their own separately defined principles.
The general principles and grant criteria are updated whenever necessary.

How grant applications are processed
The grant preparation process involves the City of Tampere's grant officers reviewing and assessing applications and comparing them against one another.
During the preparation process, an application may be transferred to another grant category if it is considered a better fit for that category.
The grant officers prepare a grant proposal, which includes their recommendation on the amounts to be awarded, for consideration by the relevant decision-making body. During the review process, it is verified that applications meet all required eligibility criteria and conditions.
The final decision on the awarding of a grant is made by a committee, subcommittee, or a designated municipal officer.
