Nature tours
In 2026, the Environmental Protection Unit a will organise nature tours around Tampere from the beginning of March until the end of September.
The tours are free of charge and open to everyone. Some tours have a limited number of participants due to the nature of the tour. This is indicated in the description of the tours where this restriction applies. There is a separate registration form for these tours.
Please remember to wear appropriate equipment for the weather and terrain, and bring a packed lunch if necessary.
If possible, it is advisable to arrive at the starting points of the tours on foot, by bicycle or by public transport.
Please check the times and starting points of the tours carefully before the tour. Cancellations and other changes may be possible and will be announced on this page.

Mushroom tour 2026

Thursday, September 17th, 2026, Hervanta, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Mushroom walk at Lake Hervanta
Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the beginning of Velholehdenkatu
On this trip, we’ll explore common edible mushrooms and learn about some other beautiful mushroom species. The trip will be conducted in English, and will be led by Martti Rajamäki, M.Sc. in Environmental Science and mushroom expert.
Please bring a snack, a water bottle, and a seat pad if you wish. We will be walking through the forest, so the trip is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact Martti if you have any questions ([email protected]), and if you are running late for the trip, call Martti (0440199128).
