Echoes of Two Homelands – a joint exhibition on Czech and Slovak identity in Finland
Echoes of Two Homelands is the largest joint exhibition to date by Czech and Slovak artists living in Finland. The participating artists are Michal Czinege, Antonín Halaš, Barbora Kachlíková, Jana Macháčková‑Oey, Petr Řehoř, Alexandra Salmela and Jana Výborná‑Turunen.
The exhibition reflects on the idea of home as something that shifts, stretches and follows us through change, gathering new layers of meaning along the way. The works explore life at the intersection of multiple cultures and multiple homelands: memories, places and lived experiences that shape identity in both visible and subtle ways.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections – People, Places and States of Mind – and invites visitors to consider how the sense of home evolves across time and life.
The exhibition is organised by Bohemia-seura ry, a community of Czechs and Slovaks living in Finland, together with Axamitum Moments Oy. The accompanying events are supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Finland, as well as Rödl and Vafo Group. Bohemia‑seura ry aims to increase awareness of Czech and Slovak cultures, languages, societies and histories among Finns and people of Czech or Slovak heritage.
A wide programme of accompanying events is offered, including films, workshops and discussion sessions.

Andréa Vannucchi – Garden of Possibilities
Opening in the Studio, Garden of Possibilities is an immersive exhibition by Brazil-born visual artist Andréa Vannucchi, who lives and works in Finland. In her practice, photography and installation merge into a meditative whole.
The works take the visitor from micro to macro scales – from the interior of a tree to the planetary level. The exhibition reflects on the human position in an era defined by biodiversity loss and climate change, asking whether we can still understand ourselves as separate from the photosynthesising beings to whom our existence is tied.
Vannucchi’s artistic process brings together photography, materiality and environmental elements such as sunlight, organic matter and surrounding vegetation. Her work unfolds at the intersection of control and unpredictability, influenced by analogue photography and printmaking.
Vannucchi lives in Särkisalo, where she tends a vegetable garden, a greenhouse and a darkroom. She experiences analogue photography and printmaking as a natural extension of gardening, as both unfold in the space between control and unpredictability. Vannucchi graduated from the Turku Arts Academy in 2015.
