Tampere.fi is a useful information service especially for the local residents and others using the services of the City of Tampere, but also for the international public and the business sector. Tampere.fi offers an introduction to the services provided by the city and an easy way to access them. Other key contents of the website include current issues and the municipal residents’ possibilities to exert influence, as well as information on the city's operations and development priorities. 

The website is accessible to all and easy to use on a smartphone. In terms of layout, Tampere.fi is a strong embodiment of the Tampere.Finland brand.

We make it easy to find information on the website by providing different types of menus, such as by topic, region and life situation, search and filtering options. The site is piloting a search function that in addition to traditional search results offers AI-generated textual search results, a summary, and an AI-powered chat, which helps in finding information on the website. The AI will produce a summary and respond in the chat based only on information published on Tampere.fi and other sites operated by the city.

We aim to present the content clearly to the user. Where possible, we will use different sources of information for online communication, so that the same content is published in different channels. For example, Tampere.fi receives service-related content from the Suomi.fi Service Repository and events from the Tampere Events Calendar through interfaces.

The full version of the website is in Finnish only, the English version is slightly more limited. You can also use the Google Translator provided in the site header to translate pages into several languages once you have accepted the required cookies. You can translate the texts on the Tampere.fi website into different languages using the translation tool available on the website: Use the mouse to select the part of the website text you want to translate. Once the text is selected, a tool will appear with a toolbar where you can click on Translate. Then select the language you want the text translated into. Please note that the quality of machine translations can vary. The City of Tampere is not responsible for translations made by the Google translator.

The site is most often accessed via a search engine and using a smartphone

According to the Tampere.fi user survey 2025, the city's website is most frequently used to search for information on current affairs, libraries, sports, events, and culture.

According to the 2025 usage statistics, the most popular content after the front page included the eVaka Tampere online service for early childhood education, school working and holiday times, swimming pool and outdoor swimming pool admission fees and other pages, parking spaces and parking payment zones, and libraries.

In 2025, the site had 6.1 million visits and 12.6 million page views. 65 percent of visitors came via a search engine. 70 percent of visitors used their smartphones to access the site. Mobile usage has increased year on year. Other city websites are also increasingly being accessed via mobile - in addition to the main website Tampere.fi, the city has several separate smaller sites.
