Public Cultural Services brings art and culture into the everyday lives of Tampere residents. We organise events, exhibitions and workshops across the city. We support local artists and cultural actors, and we maintain a variety of cultural venues.

We want every resident to have the opportunity to experience culture easily and in many different ways. We promote accessibility and equality, and we support integration through cultural activities. We offer low‑threshold services for people of all ages. In addition, we provide grants and offer spaces for cultural use, either free of charge or for rent.

We build networks with cultural actors, associations and community groups. Together, we strengthen Tampere’s vibrant and diverse cultural life.

You can apply for Project Grants for Culture from the Public Cultural Services. The aim of these grants is to support the implementation of events and projects that complement local cultural offerings in Tampere, as well as the publication of historical works. The application period is ongoing. Please refer to the instructions for applying for the Project Grants for Culture and other grants and support offered by the city.

Spaces maintained by the Public Cultural Services

The spaces maintained by the Public Cultural Services include Culture House Laikku and Laikunlava, Haihara Art Centre and Lielahti Manor event spaces. At Culture House Laikku, you can also find Children's Cultural Centre Rulla and art spaces Gallery and Studio. The Public Cultural Services rents its spaces for various events, meetings, and seminars. You may have access to some of the spaces for free if your event involves performing arts, is open to all, and has no admission fees.
