Do you need old building permits or drawings?
Starting from the beginning of 2026, Building Control Services archive materials and related information services are located at the Tampere City Archive, Saavutustenkatu 1.
For new and ongoing permit and inspection matters in building control, please contact the Building Control Service via Tampere service point (phone 041 7308168, email: [email protected]).
The building control archive materials include:
- building permits
- architectural drawings
- special plans, such as HVAC and structural drawings and plans
- final inspection reports
Building permits, architectural drawings and final inspection reports are available in digital format. Special plans and other reports are still largely in paper format.
Paper materials can be examined at the City Archive at Saavutustenkatu 1. Digital materials can be viewed both at the City Archive and at Tampere service point (Frenckellinaukio 2 B).
You can reserve the materials for research using the electronic form below. Please also reserve a viewing time for digital materials via the form.
You may also fill in the form at the City Archive or Tampere service point if needed.
We will retrieve the materials for viewing as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks after receiving the document request. The exception is extensive material requests, which have a maximum delivery time of 30 days. Contacts from the archive will be made by email or from a protected phone number.
Please note that the archive staff do not select or interpret documents. You should bring an expert with you if you need assistance in selecting or interpreting the documents.
