Develop and work together

Kickoff event and three workshops on developing sustainable solutions

Welcome to the Urban Prosumers project to co-develop everyday solutions related to sustainable mobility, food and energy! Residents, as well as associations, communities and businesses, are warmly invited to take part in the events held at Nekala’s Cultural Centre Nekalab. The kick-off event will take place on 16 April 2026, and the workshops will be held on 21 April (food), 29 April (mobility) and 4 May (energy).

Residents of Tampere can act as both producers and consumers in promoting sustainable solutions, services, and information. The Urban Prosumers project is collaborating with local residents, communities, and businesses to carry out community experiments focused on sustainable mobility, food, and energy. A total of €180,000 is available for experiments that promote a sustainable everyday life for Tampere residents.

Join us for the Urban Prosumers project kickoff event, where a series of workshops to develop sustainable solutions will begin!

The event will be held at the Nekala Cultural Centre Nekalab (Lounaantie 2, 33800 Tampere) on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 pm. to 7:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served starting at 4:30 pm.

At the event:

  • you’ll hear about the project’s goals and opportunities to participate
  • we’ll present the themes of the spring workshop series: food, mobility, and energy
  • you’ll learn about examples of community-driven solutions
  • you’ll receive information about the community grant call opening in July (a total of €180,000 available)
  • we’ll kick off a discussion on developing sustainable local solutions

Come listen, share your thoughts, and discover new ways to make sustainable change together!
