The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region celebrates Sustainable Development Week, 21–27 September 2026

During Sustainable Development Week, from 21 to 27 September 2026, a sustainability station in the lobby of Sampola invites students, staff and visitors to share their everyday sustainability actions and ideas for making teaching and learning even more sustainable. Everyone who participates will be entered into a draw to win a €30.00 course gift card from The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region.

As part of the themed week, students will also have an opportunity to share their views on the future of the Adult Education Centre through a short survey. Teachers will provide instructions during classes, and a link to the survey can also be found at the end of this news article. The survey takes just two minutes to complete.

The Adult Education Centre is taking part in Sustainable Development Week because sustainability is one of its core values.

– The campaign week highlights the goals of sustainable development and encourages both staff and students to consider environmental responsibility, equality, community spirit, cultural sustainability and the wise use of resources in their everyday lives and work, says Enni Leppälä, Project Planner for the Comprehensive Sustainability project at The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region.

On Friday, 25 September 2026, The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region will raise the Sustainable Development Goals flag at Sampola in cooperation with Tammerkoski Upper Secondary School. The SDG Flag Day is a global flag-raising campaign that promotes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
