Christmas decorations workshop in Moomin Museum

Culture Highlight #50: Although we’ve read in Tove Jansson’s lovely short story The Fir Tree that the Moomins don’t celebrate Christmas, the Moomin Museum’s Studio is busy crafting soft, Christmas-themed decorations. The Studio is open to all museum visitors from noon to 4 pm every day. The festive nonstop workshop continues until 7 January and is included in the museum admission. There is free admission to Moomin Museum on 12 December.

Be inspired by Tove Jansson and her art and discover your inner artist by taking part in one of the Moomin Museum’s workshops. They offer a fun, easy way of experimenting with new crafting ideas. Drop in any time during your museum visit – the workshops run non-stop from noon to 4pm. The museum's instructors are always on hand to inspire, advise, and help you get started, but you’re free to work on your own at your own pace. The themes vary regularly, ranging from handicrafts to community art projects. Join in and get hooked on crafting – adults welcome too!

It's easy to stop by the Moomin Museum to soak up some Christmas spirit with your Museum Card, or you can buy a family ticket if you’re visiting with little ones. Admission to the Moomin Museum is free all day on Friday, 12 December 2025. And don’t forget the open guided tours in English on Sundays!
